Terms of service
Last updated 15 August 2026.
These terms govern your use of the Quickleee web app. By opening the reader, taking a quiz, or using any other feature of the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
What the service is
Quickleee is a speed reading trainer built around Rapid Serial Visual Presentation (RSVP). You read a passage — either one from our public-domain library or, in later versions, text you provide yourself — at a words-per-minute pace, then answer a short comprehension quiz. Your quiz score is what moves your reading speed up or down; there is no manual speed control anywhere in the app.
Accounts
You can use the app as a guest without providing any personal information; a guest account is a real, anonymously created account under the hood (see the privacy policy for exactly what that means). If you later add an email or sign in with Google, your existing guest history stays attached to the same account. You are responsible for anything done through your account, including a guest session on a device you control.
The reading library
The public library consists of works we believe to be in the public domain, sourced from Project Gutenberg and similar collections. Each work's licence and source are recorded alongside it. If you believe a work is listed in error, contact us and we will investigate and remove it if warranted.
Comprehension scoring and the speed ladder
Quiz grading happens on our servers; the correct answers are never sent to your browser before you submit. A score of 85% or higher on a graded quiz raises your stored words-per-minute value; a score between 70% and 84% holds it steady; a score below 70% lowers it. Only the first graded attempt on a given passage moves this value — repeating a quiz still records a real score but will not move your speed further, which keeps the number honest rather than something you can grind upward by repetition. You may also read at a manually chosen speed for practice; sessions read that way are recorded but excluded from the ladder.
Free tier, ads, and Premium
The web app is free to use and, on the free tier, supported by advertising served through Google AdSense (see the privacy policy for what that involves). There is no purchase, subscription, or checkout of any kind on the web. A Premium tier exists only inside the Android app and is purchased there through Google Play Billing, subject to Google's own terms; nothing on this website processes a payment or collects payment details.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to bypass, forge, or manipulate quiz grading or the speed ladder;
- Scrape or bulk-download the library other than through normal, individual page requests;
- Use the service to store or distribute content you don't have the right to share;
- Interfere with the operation of the service or attempt to access another user's data.
Availability and changes
The app is provided "as is". We may add, change, or remove features — including library content, quiz questions, and the specific speed thresholds above — as the product evolves. We'll update this page when a change materially affects your rights, and the "last updated" date will reflect it.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Quickleee is a training tool, not a certification of reading ability, and we make no guarantee about reading-speed or comprehension outcomes for any individual user. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Termination
You may stop using the service at any time and request deletion of your account as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate the acceptable-use rules above.
